TikTok Shop's expansion in Europe has moved one step further.
According to official news, TikTok Shop will officially launch the “Sell Across EU” cross-border selling feature on October 19, 2026. UK sellers will then be able to use this feature to sell goods to consumers in 12 European countries, including Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Portugal, and Hungary.
Before the official launch, TikTok Shop plans to start an early pilot on September 21, and some eligible sellers will receive invitations to experience this feature in advance.
This matter is worth breaking down. It is not just as simple as “UK sellers gaining 12 more markets”; it is the opening of a truly two-way UK-EU cross-border channel.

Who can enter? It is not available just by applying
For UK sellers, entering the European market is not “approved upon application.” TikTok Shop will conduct real-time assessments based on the seller's current account status and operating performance, and the system will judge automatically; sellers who do not meet the conditions cannot even see the entry point.
Specifically, four conditions must all be met at the same time: the seller must already be an active local seller in the TikTok Shop UK market; the account must remain in good standing, cannot appear on a high-risk watchlist, and cannot be in a high-risk review period; the shop must remain active and generate sales within the last 30 days, and long-dormant accounts cannot participate; the existing account cannot have a large outstanding negative balance.
The signal is clear: the platform wants to give the opportunity for European expansion first to sellers who have already proven their operating capability in the UK market. A newly registered UK shop, even with complete qualifications, will not automatically obtain a ticket to the EU market.

What you can sell is more critical than whether you can get in
Obtaining entry qualification is only the first step. After getting in, what products can be sold and what qualifications are required are what sellers truly need to spend time researching.
TikTok Shop clearly reminds sellers in its official guide that to sell products to the EU market, they need to ensure they have the regulatory certifications and documents required by the corresponding destination market. The UK has already left the EU, and the UK and EU product regulatory systems are not completely the same. A product that can be sold normally on TikTok Shop UK does not automatically mean that simply translating the Listing allows it to be directly copied to Germany or France.
The key compliance areas directly listed by the platform include: GPSR (EU General Product Safety Regulation), EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility), packaging-related EPR, battery EPR, dangerous goods and SDS, as well as special requirements for different categories such as electronics and electrical appliances, toys, mother and baby, cosmetics, and textiles.
That is not all. Different countries within the EU may also have specific registration, labeling, language, and EPR requirements. Product labels, batch information, warnings, and safety information all need to meet the language requirements of the target country. Some categories have additional restrictions in the EU market, and non-compliant products will be directly removed by the platform.

For sellers who have already made their model work on TikTok Shop UK, Sell Across EU indeed opens up an incremental channel of substantive significance. TikTok Shop UK has been operating for nearly five years, with more than 300,000 local small businesses onboarded, and the platform's traffic foundation and content ecosystem in Europe have already reached a certain scale.
But rolling out 12 markets at once may not be a wise choice for small and medium-sized sellers. Products, language, creator partnerships, customer service, logistics, returns—each additional market means new variables. A product that sells well in the UK does not mean that directly copying it to Germany will necessarily lead to explosive sales.
A more reasonable approach is: start by testing in 1 to 2 markets, prioritizing markets with relatively similar consumer habits and relatively mature logistics conditions. Once it works, then gradually replicate. The opportunity for cross-border sales in Europe is real, but the way it is realized is by walking forward step by step.
